It's Our Water! How Can We Help Keep Our Ponds, Streams, and Bays Clean and Safe

  • Port Washington Public Library 1 Library Drive Port Washington, NY, 11050 United States (map)

There are clear benefits to keeping our water clean - it's why we treat our drinking water. But what about our waterways? Manhasset Bay is regularly tested for pollutants, but the ponds and streams that feed it are not. That means we are blind to things like fertilizers, leaky septic systems, animal waste and stormwater runoff that impact our marine and wildlife, our health, and safely swimming, boating and fishing.

Join Transition Town Port Washington and the leaders of the Citizen Scientist Water QualityTesting Program in conversation with subject matter experts to learn about this important issue, the new testing program piloted this summer, and how you can help.

This is a hybrid event sponsored by the Port Washington Public Library and Transition Town Port Washington. Register here: https://portwashington.librarycalendar.com/index.php/event/its-our-water-how-can-we-help-keep-our-ponds-streams-and-bays-clean-and-safe-51687.
