Day of Action 2025

Youth Activists meeting with State Assembly Representatives

On Wednesday, March 5th, TTPW Youth Activists join nearly 700 youth from across the state in Albany for a powerful Day of Climate Action organized by TREEAGE and New York Renews.

The youth activists demanded urgent action on climate change and fight for climate justice. They participated in rallies, heard the Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado speak on the importance of taking action, and met with state representatives to advocate for meaningful climate solutions.

They advocated for:

  • Solar on Schools: Our youth advocated for the Solar on Schools bill, which would commit $500 million to install solar panels and geothermal energy systems in schools across the state. This bill is crucial for reducing our carbon footprint and promoting sustainability in education.

  • Fund Climate Campaign: Our youth fought for the inclusion of climate justice and resiliency initiatives in this year’s New York State budget. Our youth pushed hard to ensure that climate action remains a top priority for the future of our state.

  • Cap and Invest: Our youth urged the governor to support Cap and Invest, a critical initiative that would make polluters reduce their carbon emissions and invest in sustainable solutions for communities across New York.

We are incredibly proud of our youth activists for the passion, dedication, and confidence they demonstrated as advocates and speakers. They spoke with conviction, showing an unwavering commitment to climate justice. Their ability to articulate the urgency of climate action, backed by a strong moral compass, reassures us that they are the leaders of tomorrow.
